Exploring Blogs and Entering Competitions

I have just entered a couple of my illustrations into the AOI Images competition. It is the first time I have submitted anything to AOi and the competition is very high. Wish me luck!

I have been reading many creative blogs over the last couple of weeks and I am so impressed with all that I have seen. Makes my blog look very boring. I am in the process of trying to find a lead for my camera so I can download some images and make my blog more visually interesting.

Lauren has just had her first book published. I am crossing my fingers that by next year I will be able to post my success story.

Everyone who is blogging seems to have big long lists of links and have joined groups and been tagged to do lists. If anyone reads this it would be great to know how. I'm sure I'll find out very soon.

Portfolios.com Winner!

I have not written for ages as I have been so busy working on an idea for a picture book. However I thought I should acknowledge that I won the bronze award for the annual Portfolios.com competition. I have never entered anything before so was extremely pleased with this result.

I have just finished several paintings for my picture book idea and will now be producing the black and white images needed to produce my dummy book. And then it will be fingers crossed.

I have also been designing small illustrations of some nursery rhymes which could be used within a book or as prints and cards. Basically I am working my socks off to produce as much as I can for my portfolio.
